Training and Accreditations Connick Tree Care understands fully its responsibility to provide adequate training and equipment. We have invested heavily in all aspects of staff development. Local training providers are used, for example, Merrist Wood College. Also we hire professional trainers for individual needs. Connick Tree Care has certified staff capable of implementing all aspects within the arboricultural remit of the contract. Certificates cover risk assessment, chain saw use, pesticide application, street signing and guarding, first aid, tree climbing, stump grinding and aerial rescue. There are 16 grade levels within Connick Tree Care labour force, each grade has a list of set criteria to be achieved. This system allows management to monitor the continued professional development of the staff and equally gives the field staff clear goals and aims for the future. Field staff and management are constantly monitored to ensure that they are operating safety, productively and within HSE and industry best practice guidelines. Connick Tree Care puts great emphasis on the continued professional development of its staff, and realises the importance of ‘in house’ training and nationally recognised certificates of competence. New staff receives ‘in house’ on site training from the start of their employment. They are put forward for NPTC certification when it is felt they have reached the required level of competence and have proved a commitment to Connick Tree Care.
