Tree Evaluation and Value
We undertake the evaluation of trees for various reasons:
- Wildlife and ecological value, including the potential for bat roosts.
- Landscape value as part of a development proposal or tree population management plan
- Hazard risks in relation to the safety of persons, road traffic and property
- Monetary valuation, to improve budget allocations and resolve compensation disputes
Connick Tree Care are qualified and experienced in all aspects of tree evaluation.
Capital Asset Value for Amenity Trees (CAVAT)
CAVAT provides a method for managing trees as public assets rather than liabilities. It is designed not only to be a strategic tool and aid to decision-making in relation to the tree stock as a whole, but also to be applicable to individual cases, where the value of a single tree needs to be expressed in monetary terms.
Developed by the London Tree Officers' Association (LTOA), the professional body for tree specialists working for the London boroughs, this is a system that assesses a tree's worth according to its size, health, historical significance and how many people live nearby to enjoy it. It assesses worth in actual money terms.
Connick Tree Care staff are trained and experienced in the use of this system to assist tree owners to value their stock and to help resolve disputes involving trees and financial compensation.
